Robot Block Set
Hand this trio of hand-painted blocks over to little explorers for mixing and matching, building characters, and imagining stories. For babies, block play is all about learning basic fine motor skills—how to grip and release, understanding objects in space, and exploring dexterity. As little ones grow up, their play starts to include storytelling, which helps them hone literacy and language skills, like reading comprehension, narrative structure, and character development.

Play is okay! tip
After children build a robot, help them build a character. Ask questions that help your little one describe their ‘bot’s descriptive traits (name, hobbies, personality) and even think of a backstory. Have them write down their list of traits on paper to naturally connect writing to play; if they haven’t learned how to write, be their notetaker.
