Play Scenes: Mermaid Tea Party

We recently received the most darling Moulin Roty tea set from our friends at Rose and Rex, which called for a tea party (duh). But what kind of tea party? I thought about a traditional one, with a little table and chairs and maybe some macarons and some stuffed animal friends. But we’ve had a few traditional tea parties lately, and I wanted to mix it up. Then we went to the library and found a copy of Mermaid School, and it hit me – a mermaid tea party! I ran to the store for some balloons and told my daughters Jane (5) and Rose (4) to put on their swimsuits. We read the book and listened to the Little Mermaid soundtrack. We played in the bath with water balloons and somewhere along the way a disco ball was introduced. It was really fun! Pictures below.

Thanks, as always, to Allie at Rose and Rex for carrying the best toys and letting us share our experiences with them!
